EXPECTATIONS IN BUSINESS

Darling,
Business has been slow. What is even worse is that I have two separate shipments delayed. One is from December ( shipping was meant to be 30 days )& the other one is from February ( shipping was meant to be 7 days ). It really is such a let down because I need new stock.
Being in business requires a lot of patience, fortitude & discipline. Sometimes the lows are low & this is when I really start to question myself & my abilities. I begin wonder if there is more I should be doing & if so, what is that more.
Another thing I have learnt in the last 10 months I have been in business is that  when friends (& even family) pledge to support you, please take it with a grain of salt. Keep your expectations low because from my experience, strangers are more likely to support you than your friends.
Further, only bring in products that you think will sell rather than bringing in something because someone said they will take a good number & even have their friends buy them. This I say from experience. A cousin of mine encouraged me to bring in silicone baby bibs for her & her mummy friends & months later she still has not picked hers. I also stopped asking about her mummy friends because I got tired of the excuses & things were getting a bit awkward. Another incident is when the ladies from my sisters' rugby team asked me to bring in nipple pads & months later, apart from my sisters & one other lady, nobody from the team bought them. Thankfully, girls online loved them & now I have only a handful remaining.
But darling, because of these hurdles, every win ( sale/on time shipment/ good review) is amplified. As Edmond Mbiaka puts it, "the struggles, challenges, and obstacles that it takes to succeed in life is what makes success more valuable. Nothing great comes easy, and nothing easy can ever equate to greatness."
Book Review: Book nine, Penny Reid's Beauty and the Mustache, was a good read but I feel like the author is self sabotaging with that hideous book cover & the corny name. The story is about Ash Winston who, after a 8 year hiatus, is forced back home by her mother's terminal illness. Back home, so much has changed. Each of her 6 brothers has cleaned up their act thanks to the mysterious Drew Runous - local Game Warden, bear wrestler, philosopher, and much to her chagrin, the holder of her mother's power of attorney & the executor of her mother's will.
